The health, social and emotional well-being of pupils in KS2 is of paramount importance and therefore, children are taught social, emotional and behavioural skills (self-awareness, managing feelings, motivation, empathy and social skills) through an Emotional Intelligence teaching programme, 'Discovering Me'.  Children access a refocus session with a trained Human Givens practitioner, which helps pupils to make appropriate choices from pattern matching experiences learnt from storytelling metaphors, whilst participating in art therapy.

It is important to develop the social and emotional aspects of learning as they underlie almost every aspect of our lives, enable us to be effective learners, enable us to get on with other people and become responsible citizens.  Through the curriculum, pupils are motivated to develop their understanding of what it means to be and stay healthy; the improtance of physical and mental well-being and the contribution they themselves can make towards their own and each others development
