Computing / ICT at Key Stage 4

Teaching and Learning

Computing at ‘West Cumbria Learning Centre’ is taught through discreet workshops delivered by specialists every term. Our students learn about a range of digital systems, programming techniques and are given the opportunity to explore their own ideas.
ICT is also delivered as a discreet subject each week to all students in Key Stage 4.
Our year 10 and 11 pupils will be studying Functional Skills ICT. This study course enables all pupils to be accredited one certificate for each module that is successfully completed. Each pupil’s program of work is individually tailored to their previous knowledge and identifies any gaps in their previous learning.  As a result all pupils will be learning new relevant material in depth and quickly recap known material. This enables each individual pupil to achieve all modules confidently at their own pace and understanding.
